Thought I was making reservations direct with a hotel service. Web pages and pictures were correct.

Room rate was as expected. Minutes later (3:15PM) got confirmation in email, with an additional $95 "taxes, etc." and $50 room damage fees. Called Getaroom immediately, got foreign accent runaround, stating that in the fine print of the web page reservations could only be cancelled before 10:00AM (hours before the reservation was made) because the room "was being held". Cancelled stay, but got stuck with most of the fees".

Talked to Hotel - they never received any reservation from Getaroom. Asked for a supervisor, was informed super was on escalated telephone call and would call me back. Called again, got English speaking supervisor who after several minutes offered me a 50% refund on their fees.

Figured that was the best I was gong to get and accepted. Bottom line: avoid Getaroom.com scam.
