Bad pricing policy
Booked a room thru national chain hotel site, and was UNKNOWINGLY redirected to Getaroom site. Entered cc info, date of stay, etc.
I saw room rate was low rate, but service charges/fees added to increased cost, and that it was non refundable.
I NEVER book nonrefundable rooms, so I exited the site before completing transaction.
Received an email that my cc was charged this high rate, and also a Getaroom hotel confirmation!!! Tried to call, explain, got the runaround. Even called the hotel directly to fix this.
They said it was up to GETAROOM.COM
Long story short - terrible company, won't try to issue even partial voucher to compensate for charge.
Ended up not staying. The hotel paid for their share, and GETAROOM got their share, but I received nothing in return.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

Just so customers know that this is a Third Party that is taking these reservations. When we spoke to the booking agent last night he mentioned that the cost per a room will be $259 per night and that's NOT the case.
When we received the email confirmation the cost was $394 per night!
In addition, the room booked was not what we requested!
We trying to fix and get the room we requested and they are saying we have to cancel and be charged one night fee with taxes - totally wrong!
The representative stated we can cancel without penalty and this is not the case. So frustrating, PLEASE DO NOT go thru this company.

En nuestro sistema nos figura que la reserva estaba Pre Pagada, pero al momento de hacer uso de la tarjeta de Crédito para registrar el pago se genera un rechazo por fondos insuficientes, por lo cual necesitamos saber qué está pasando y si nos pueden ayudar con este problema lo más pronto posible.
Total de la reserva: $ 199.09 USD - $ 790.387 COP
Total debitado de la tarjeta: $ 124.68 USD PD 495.000 COP
FALTA POR PAGAR: $ 74.40 USD - $ 295.387 COP

They got in touch after about a week saying they could not cancel because it wasn't their policy to do so.
I do know that Get a Room canceled our reservation themselves before the check in date.
Hampton Inn, Patriots Point, Charleston, SC, reservation number #R368799****. I made a reservation on my phone mistaking this for the Hampton Inn website. There wasn't any mention of membership and fees, only a total of $254.34 for two nights. There wasn't a breakdown or a total for the stay until I put in all of my information and made the purchase.
When I received my confirmation email it was for $778.16! I was really upset. We are on a fixed income and cannot afford this. We called the customer service and she was no help.
The representative we spoke with was unapologetic and made it out to be my fault. They also will not let you talk to a manager either. We attempted to replicate the reservation to see all of the detail she claimed "I was aware of" on the page but dismissed the details, but no luck. She said they can not cancel the reservation because Holiday Inn would not let them.
She did send an email to support and they were supposed to get back with me. They never did. The end result was I have a two day reservation for almost $800. They are liars and scam artists.
I am not done with these people.
I will dispute the charge. They should be ashamed of treating people like this, especially senior citizens on a fixed income.

I wish that I could give this company negative stars.
I wish that I would have read these reviews before on 06/22/22 I let a customer service representative of CCI Hotel Reservations/Getaroom.com lead me to believe that I was making a reservation directly with the Econo Lodge. The CSR assured me several times that the location was clean, safe, had a beautiful pool that was open, and served breakfast.
I was informed about the no cancellation policy, but I asked at least four different times if the representative was onsite and that the property description was factual to which I was assured it was, before consenting to the reservation.
Nothing could be further from the truth! The hotel was the worst place that I have ever walked into! When we pulled into the front driveway, there were several unsavory looking characters hanging around outside that did not appear to be checking in. The way they stared at us instantly made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
The entire lobby was dirty and smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke and alcohol that my traveling companion was instantly nauseous and had to go back outside to keep from getting sick.
The pool was open, but the front desk clerk informed me that it was contaminated and that I would need a tetanus shot if I swam in it. And of course, there was no breakfast (not that we would want to eat it if there was),
Since we were two females traveling alone, we decided not to stay and left without checking in. It was then that I discovered when I tried to cancel my reservation that I had made it through a third party reservation service. The front desk clerk tried to help.
She printed out paperwork that showed a zero rate with the Econo Lodge and also paperwork on the amount that CCI Hotel Reservations/ Getaroom.com was scheduled to pay them upon check in. There was a difference of a $146.76.
I then called CCI Hotel Reservations/ Getaroom.com and after several unsuccessful tries because the only way you can get a real person is if you choose the new reservation option, I finally was able to speak to somebody. At that time I was told that I could not cancel and get a refund because there was not a manager on duty and to call back in the morning.
The next morning, I was told that as soon as the manager at Econo Lodge refunded the money sent to them, I would receive a full refund.
Since, I have been in a constant dispute for a full refund. These people will tell you anything.
I have been told that they think that I deserve a full refund, but they have shifted the blame to the manager of the Econo Lodge saying that he is refusing the full refund.
Do not give these people your credit card!! Once they have it, they will hide behind their shady no cancellations policy and will outright rob you!
